These last weeks we will be writing our thankyou letters to parents and teachers for their help at camp and the noho marae. Also we will be writing explanations and instructions.
Term 4 week 4-6
This week we are looking at newspaper reporting and titles.
Term4 week 2-3
This week we will be looking at report writing and how to write a recipe.
Term 3 week 8-9
We are starting to learn about writing explanations - this will fit in well with our inquiry topic too.
Term 3 Week 7-8
We will be writing up our inquiry Question into our topic books - explaining what we have found out and whether or not we have more questions. Really interesting questions - I'm looking forward to the reports.
Term 3 Week 6
This week we will be finishing our narratives and choosing one to publish. We will do a self assessment and continue to know our next step. The writing genre we are next going to look at is writing explanations.
Term 3 Week 4-5
We are continuing to work on our narratives. We will also get a chance to develop our characters from our plays we are doing.
Short stories can be hard to write as they need to have all the ingredients of a longer story but ned to be punchier and concise.

These first 3 weeks we are working on narrative writing and making sure we have the audience in mind when we write. We will be reading our stories to our class throughout this time.
Term 2 Week 10
Hopefully you have published your book review on your blog after you have shared it with me and 1 other on your google docs.
We are going to try and do some "reading aloud" videos on your wiki page and you can then make a comment about your reading goal.
Term 2 Week 8-9
This week i would like you to write a book review about the book you are reading from the library and put it on your blog.
I would also like you to comment on 2 other peoples book reviews.
Your book review will include a brief summary of the story and also something about the characters and setting.
term 2 week 5 - 7
Well done to all those people who made their blogs.
This week i would like you to create one of the following-
A summary on a cube of the story you just read - Readwritethink
If you finish early you can write a short summary of the book you have read in your Literacy circle on your blog.
Also you can make a jacket cover for the book you have just read at readwritethnk.

I think we could make our own blogs this week and they can be a place where we show our work and comment on each others work. I will do an example in class for those who are unsure. You will have to know your school gmail account and password.
We are writing persuasive stories this week and practising taking notes.

Make sure you have written your introduction to your wiki and also been on google docs and written your page about what you are an expert in. Well done Zac. Remember to tell us stuff you know alot about.

When you do your introduction maybe write it onto a word or google document as sometimes the wiki freezes when too many people are on it.
Click on your name and write an introduction on your new page telling us about yourself. Things you like - dislike. Things you like to play at school and at home. Interests you have and something about your friends and your holiday.Things you enjoy
Important that you don't write this all in capital letters.
Important you write using the correct punctuation.
Remember this is an online wiki so anyone can read it including Mr Farrelly.
Go to Web 2.0 tools and click on "Make your magna". Remember to make a magna (a magna is a made up image of a person) that is appropriate for a school wiki. E.g. no tattoos, smoking etc. Then when it is finished send it to our gmail so i can approve it before it goes on the wiki. Our email address is - room14rbs@gmail.com
